# How to Lock veBAL

In order to lock veBAL, you need to add liquidity to Balancer's B-80BAL-20WETH pool. Refer to this [page](https://docs.xave.co/tutorials/how-to-vote-for-xaves-gauges-in-balancer-using-vebal/how-to-get-b-80bal-20weth).

1. Go to veBAL page, [here](https://app.balancer.fi/#/ethereum/get-vebal?returnRoute=vebal)
2. Specify the amount of B-80BAL-20WETH to lock.
3. Choose a lock period.
4. Click "Preview" button.
5. Click Approve B-80BAL-20WETH for locking.
6. Click "Confirm lock" and wait for the transaction to be confirmed.
7. The next step is to vote for a gauge, here.
